2011 Red Sea Convoy - from Thailand to Turkey (02 Sep 2010)

For yachts planning to return to the Med via the Red Sea in 2011, a large convoy is seen by many as the safer way to transit. Dutchman Rene and his family (wife Edith and 2 year old daughter Devi) aboard their yacht Alondra transited the Red Sea in 2007 to Thailand.

Warning for North Sea Sailors: 60 tonnes of timber (02 Sep 2010)

As reported by Sail-World.com Yacht crews in the North Sea are warned about 60 tonnes of wooden planks which have fallen overboard from a Norwegian ship, the 79 metre 1977 vintage, 2000 tonne Sally, 55 miles east of Lowestoft in the UK in heavy seas.
