Attention Parents & Guardians

Each year, the New York State Education Department publishes School Report Cards that share critical information about each district and school. The report cards consist of three parts: Accountability and Overview Report (AOR), Comprehensive Information Report (CIR), and Fiscal Accountability Supplement. The New York State Education Department school report cards for the Elmsford UFSD, as well as all other districts, may be accessed directly through the nySTART.gov website.

Districts, public schools, and charter schools are held accountable for the performance of their students according to federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and state regulations. Districts and schools are assigned a "status" based on their performance and are subject to certain consequences if their performance is not satisfactory. Based on the school report cards for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years, the Alice E. Grady Elementary School has been identified as a School in Need of Improvement (SINI). As a result, the building has been undergoing a rigorous process to evaluate our current programs and create action steps to raise student achievement. We are confident that the dedicated efforts of our teachers, staff, administrators and parents will help drive student achievement upwards.

Because the district has not closed school during this academic year due to inclement weather, we will be making use of our two extra vacation days on
Friday, May 25th and Tuesday, May 29th.
