Free Skool Santa Cruz class with Jason. Letters are immensely important to prisoners, to combat isolation and stay engaged with the world and loved ones. Write a letter and become a penpal with someone whose freedom has been stolen by the state. Find out what to write and what not to. Political prisoners' addresses provided. Free Skool Santa Cruz class with Charlie. Meets at SubRosa. These classes are an introduction to the plants of the Santa Cruz area. Each class will go to a different bio-region (chaparel, redwood, coastal scrub) and will introduce native & non-natives with a focus on edible and medicinal plants. This class will teach how to key out and identify plants with introductory botany, specifically medicinal plants and their properties. Requirements: Please bring a notebook or clipboard, bring any plant keys you have of the area and a car so we can carpool to the area we will be for the day. Please be on time! Come create a new society with essays, poems, pictures, and stories cut and pasted onto pieces of paper to distribute to friends and strangers! Let's discuss politics, economics, relationships, revolution, and other pressing issues while making zines. Make your own zine or meet with collaborators to make one cooperatively. Santa Cruz Free Skool class with JT. This is a group of folks who are interested in learning the language of the Navajo people (Dineh bizaad). There will be no fluent navajo speakers, but we will use books, stories, movies, writings, and some personal knowledge to learn about Navajo language and culture. Language will be specifically targeted at helping BMIS supporters communicate with elders and inspiring others to join in this resistance. Requirements: Notebook and pen or pencil.
